Milford, CT — The Connecticut Burns Care Foundation (CBCF) proudly announces the launch of its newest initiative, the Burn Camp Share Program, an innovative and inspiring opportunity that allows young burn survivors to explore and experience burn camps across the United States. This new program enhances the Foundation’s long‑standing mission to support and empower burn survivors by fostering healing, growth, and community.
Through this new initiative, campers from CBCF’s own Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp and campers from across North America and Canada will now have the option to extend their summer experience, connect with peers from across the country, and continue their emotional and social development in new environments that support and understand their journeys.
“This program opens a pathway for young burn survivors to grow, explore, and experience even more joy throughout the summer,” said Steve Lupinacci, Manager of Camper Outreach for the Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp and creator of the Burn Camp Share Program. Lupinacci, a retired firefighter, long‑time former camp director, and passionate advocate for burn survivors, has dedicated more than 25 years to the camp and its mission.
He believes that the ability for campers to attend multiple burn camps will create lifelong memories and broaden the circle of support each child has access to. “Every camp has its own strengths, traditions, and magic,” Lupinacci shared. “Giving campers the chance to visit another program, is a gift that can positively shape their confidence and self‑identity.”
The Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp, operated by the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation, has served young burn survivors for decades by offering them a safe, fun-filled, cost‑free summer camp where healing and self‑acceptance take center stage. The Burn Camp Share Program builds on this legacy by expanding opportunities nationwide.
“We are thrilled to launch this new program and excited for the many camps we hope will join us in the future,” said the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation. “The more we collaborate, the richer and more transformative the experience becomes for every burn survivor involved. This is about giving children every chance to thrive.”
CBCF looks forward to welcoming additional partner camps across the country and continuing to strengthen the network of support for young burn survivors everywhere.
